About Medinge Säteri

Where style meets nature in the heart of Sweden

Our history

Medinge became a Säteri (Manor) under the Scottish gentleman, Casten Feif, who made a tremendous career during the reign of King Karl XII. The property already appears in records dating from the mid-17th century, when it belonged to Kägleholm, the significant estate of Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie.

Medinge Säteri came into the noble family Åkerhielm through marriage when Baron Samuel Åkerhielm jr. married one of Casten Feif's daughters, Anna-Christina, and stayed in the family until 1794, when it was sold to another noble family, Tersmeden.

In 1994, Baron Carl-Gustaf Åkerhielm acquired the property, bringing it back into the family.

More about the history of Medinge Säteri can be found in the book "Medinge - ett säteri i tiden" by Dixie Ericson, which can be purchased on the estate from its current owner, Baroness Viveka Åkerhielm.
